We Puerto Ricans feel the music in our souls. That's why Banco Popular has taken on the role of making our melodies better known by producing high-quality musical productions.

Once again, the Bank is doing its part by making our Rafael Carrión Pacheco Exhibit Hall available to document a rich musical legacy with the interactive exhibition Acángana: 100 Years of Puerto Rican Music. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to listen to the first Christmas carols by Puerto Rican singers as performed by Gracia López and recorded on Edison cylinders in 1909.

The rhythms of bomba, plena and salsa will nearly have you dancing and you'll feel the intimacy of a bolero with the intensity that only Puerto Rican songwriters have been able to achieve. A musical staff will lead us along the timeline and tell us the story of the classic singers, the new songs, Latin jazz, Spanish rock and even some rap.

Today, Puerto Rico has become a first-class stage for music. Acángana 100 Years of Puerto Rican Music gives every Puerto Rican and visitor a front-row seat by the orchestra.
